-- “Yuki Yuna is a Hero” Wikia Description of Karin |

PERSONALITY | ||
Though her attitude is rather grating, it’s not completely unfounded. Karin has been training to be a Hero ever since she was a young child and it shows. She has a kind of discipline that most girls her age would struggle to maintain. She trains daily, eats healthy and works herself to the bone to make sure she's in tip-top Hero condition both mentally and physically. Her reflexes are sharp and she has a good instinct for how to conduct herself in a battle. What's more, fighting is something that Karin seems to genuinely enjoy. She enters fights with the Vertex with a huge grin on her face, laughing and spitting out one liners and generally acting like she doesn't have a thing to be scared of. And for the most part, she doesn't -- after all, she's been training for this since she was a child. She's strong, she's fast, she's ready. What is there to be afraid of? Unfortunately for Karin, all of her training can’t make up for the fact that under all the titles and Taisha-appointed positions, she’s still just an immature fourteen-year-old girl and her age frequently betrays her. Under all Karin’s bluster and awkwardness, she's quite a sweet, soft-hearted girl. Married as she is to being haughty and cool, however, she perceives this as a weakness and tries to cover up with limited success. It’s a side of her that becomes very prominent once Karin actually spends some time with the Hero Club in school rather than on the battlefield. Though she spends all of her intro episode complaining about how dumb the club is, she still turns up to the clubroom and throws herself right into all the club activities and fitting in so well that it’s almost like she was always there. And though she keeps up her fuss and complaints, the Hero Club is something that Karin cherishes and comes to openly appreciate over the course of the show, even if it takes her a good while to be able to actually admit this out loud. It seems almost contradictory to mention that Karin suffers from an inferiority complex, given how arrogant and brash she presents herself as. But the truth is that Karin can only find worth in herself if it's through her identity as a Hero. Though her Hero identity is a source of great pride and confidence for Karin her attitude in regards to it is deeply unhealthy. It’s not just a point that Karin values her own worth using it, but that she defines herself entirely by it and cares little for herself outside of it. Afrer all, Karin Miyoshi the middle schooler is just a girl with an important older brother. Karin Miyoshi the Hero was personally selected by the Taisha to fight and save the world. It's Karin’s devotion to her friends and the Hero Club that is her saving grace though. Karin is an amazingly loyal girl who will devote herself to a cause she finds worthy with all her heart. For all her life, her loyalties have lain with the Taisha and it’s them that she initially sides with during the main conflict of the series. But when she realizes that she cares more about her friends and their happiness than she does the Taisha’s orders, Karin throws away her dedication to the latter and her title as their Hero with nary a hint of regret or bitterness. Her love for her friends lets Karin radically redefine her sense of self and though Karin still needs to be a Hero, she is now a member of the Sanshu Middle School Hero Club and not the Taisha. |

PERMISSIONS (IC & OOC) | ||
▶ PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Karin's a big angry ball of tsun so you're probably going to get the same irritable reaction whether she likes you or not. Please hug Karin Miyoshi into submission. ▶ PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Karin's been training for combat for most of her life so she can absolutely hold her own in a fight if she has to. That said, she's a short teenage girl so it's certainly not out of the question that she could lose or get injured by someone bigger and tougher. Drop me a line if you want to pick a fight and we'll work something out! ▶ RELATIONSHIPS: she's 14 so, uh ▶ PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: She's pretty much just a regular teenage girl! Nothing too unusual going on in her head. I'd appreciate a head's up if you're going to go digging around in her brain though! ▶ MAGICAL INFORMATION: For those able to pick it up, Karin will constantly ping as being low-key magical to some degree. To characters who've got experience in dealing with gods, they'll be able to pick up that her magic pings also have a sense of being touched/empowered by a god or a god-like power. ▶ MEDICAL INFORMATION: Nothin' special. ▶ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ▶ BACKTAGGING: PLEASE GOD backtag with me forever. ▶ THREADHOPPING: i fucking love threadjacks in stupid shenanigan threads so yes. However, if there's Plot Stuff going down, or if you're otherwise unsure anyway, please ask first! ▶ FOURTHWALLING: Ask first, please! ▶ OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: I'd really prefer to avoid things relating to sexual assault and rape, as well as abusive relationships particularly emotional abuse and parental abuse. If these things are going to come up in a thread, please contact me first to discuss them rather than just dropping them on me! ▶ ANYTHING ELSE?: i'm a huge weenie baby with a big ass phobia of spiders and needles! i can handle descriptions of them if they come up in threads but p l e a s e don't spring images of them on me out of nowhere if possible! |
